Dentists on Main will supply responsible, rational, high quality dental care, carried out with the utmost respect for the patient. Dentists on Main will continue using the latest materials and methods that have been proven to be safe and effective. Staff members will continue to attend classes and seminars outlining new dental techniques, polishing needed business skills, developing communication skills and cultivating leadership qualities.

Responsible means that the treatments proposed will be long term solutions to the patient's dental problem, arrived at only after careful diagnosis of the condition.

Rational means that the patient's needs and desires will be taken into consideration when the treatment is proposed.

High quality means that the dentists, the assistants and the hygienists will be ever vigilant to carry out their treatment with care and diligence.

All this will be achieved by a happy, healthy, well respected dental staff who feel that they are part of a team. This mission will be accomplished by people who feel that their presence on that team, on this earth and in this profession, can make a difference.

Emergencies

Of course the best treatment for a toothache is to prevent it from happening in the first place. By scheduling regular cleaning visits and check-ups, we are more likely to keep your mouth healthy and trouble free. If you or a member of your family has a problem, please call us right away. Patients in pain are seen as soon as possible. Don’t wait, hoping that your problem will get better on its own. We want to see you to fix your problems before they become emergencies. Because of our extended office hours, we are easy to reach. However, if you do have a problem after hours, call our office at (248) 652-1010. The after hours message contains the phone numbers of the doctors.

Our Doctors

We are proud to have four fine doctors in our practice to serve our patients. They pride themselves on being caring and compassionate. Each doctor is a key member of the total treatment team. The doctors meet informally during office hours to discuss treatment options of patients and formally monthly for patient case discussions. All of this is geared towards ensuring that the patients receive the best quality, most up to date and most comfortable treatment possible. Each doctor has a special interest area of expertise, which allows the team to provide superior service. All the doctors are members of The Oakland County Dental Society, The Michigan Dental Association and The American Dental Association.

Dr. Reynolds is the founder of the practice. He is a Rochester native, having graduated from Rochester High School in 1969. His undergraduate studies were completed at Florida State University and he graduated from The University of Detroit Dental School in 1978. He has also earned his MBA at Madonna University in 1996. He has served as president of the Rochester Rotary Club, was on the board of directors of the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce for 4 years and served on the Crittenton Hospital Community Relations Committee.

Dr. Duz graduated from Rochester High School in 1977. His undergraduate work was done at Oakland University and he graduated from the University of Detroit Dental School in 1985. We have been fortunate to have Dr. Duz with us for all of the 21 years since he graduated from dental school. He is a past president of the Rochester Lions Club. Dr. Duz has concentrated studies in orthodontics and now performs limited orthodontic treatment for our patients. Dr. Duz is married and resides in Rochester Hills.

Dr. Khoury also lives in Rochester. Her undergraduate studies were done at The University of Michigan. She then continued on to their dental school and graduated from the University of Michigan Dental School in 1995. After graduation, she completed a one year hospital-based residency at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. There she gained valuable understanding in treating victims of oral cancer, including diagnosis and reconstructive surgery. Her experiences at the VA has made her very comfortable in treating elderly and medically compromised patients. Following her residency, she took a clinical teaching position at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She particularly enjoys crown and bridge and cosmetic dentistry. She has two children and her husband is also a practicing dentist in Oxford.

Dr. Burdua is originally from the Macomb Township area and now resides in Oxford. Dr. Burdua completed his undergraduate studies at Oakland and Lawrence Technological Universities, and is a graduate of the University of Michigan Dental School. Dr. Burdua has been with our practice, caring for our community with his kind and gentle chair-side manner, for 6 years. During this time, Dr. Burdua has cultivated a special interest in performing root canal therapy and enjoys helping those who are experienceing pain and discomfort in this area. Dr. Burdua also enjoys treating children, ensuring each visit to our office is positive and educational. On a personal note, despite his deep enjoyment of dentistry, Dr. Burdua most enjoys spending his time with his wonderful wife, enjoying every moment watching his two children grow.

Each member of our hygiene staff takes hours of continuing education classes yearly in order to provide you with the most up to date techniques and modern services available.

Over 90% of our assistants have taken classes and passed DANB, the Dental Assisting National Board exam, a test to become certified, (CDA). In addition, they have gone to school and taken another state examination to become Registered Dental Assistants, (RDA), a special group of dental assistants recognized by the State of Michigan and able to perform expanded functions. Only 13% of the assistants in the United States are certified, only 10% of those are registered.

The Dentists on Main sterile tech team works together to insure that the instruments we use meet the highest standards for patient safety. Their hard work and dedication to the craft are evident every time we set up for our next patient. You can rest assured in the knowledge that our instrument sterility is second to none thanks to this team.

Our business staff is highly trained to help you with your insurance questions. They have instant access to the websites, information staff and clerical departments of the insurance companies.

Celebrating Our Differences!

We realize that everyone has a different personality and as such will feel at home with different people. Recognizing that fact, we would like you to meet all of the doctors so that you will feel comfortable being treated by any one of them, if the need arises. We accomplish this goal by varying the doctor who does your exam during your professional cleanings. However, we want you to feel free to specify which doctor you would most like to see most often in order to make you comfortable. This applies also to hygienists. We have many different hygienists and each one has her own unique personality. Try a number of different hygienists so that during those times that your favorite person is out of the office, you will feel comfortable having your teeth cleaned by any of our professional hygienists.

Dentists on Main feature facilities that are technically advanced and extremely comfortable. From the moment you walk in the door you know that you are in a place that is way ahead of the curve. From our lobby, to our treatment rooms and into our sterilization area, we strive to make sure that this is a place that is second to none. But don’t just take our word for it; check out our virtual tours of Dentists on Main. Of course, when you are in the office, feel free to ask for a tour. Any of our highly trained team members would be happy to show you what we do to protect and serve you.

Payment Policies

Payment is due at each office visit. We accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. We also offer Care Credit’s flexible payment options to help you. Just ask one of our well trained front desk staff members. They will be more than happy to help you.

Dental Insurance

If you have dental insurance you will need to bring in any information that would help us process your claims in a prompt and efficient manner. We participate with most traditional dental plans including Delta Dental Plan of Michigan and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Remember, however, that all charges remain the responsibility of the patient.

Patient Safety

To protect the health of you and your family, we meet or exceed all governmental standards for infection control. All of our hand pieces and instruments are sterilized and stored in sterile packets. Many disposable items are used, and treatment rooms are cleaned thoroughly and disinfected after every patient. Our autoclave is tested monthly by the University of Detroit
Sterilization Monitoring Service.

Water Quality

The quality and cleanliness of the water that we use during your treatment is of top concern for us. In order to assure that the water we use is clean and safe and in order to keep our waterlines clean, we use a self contained water system. That means that we use a bottle of water that is hooked up to each individual dental unit. The units are not hooked up to the municipal water supply. That water bottle is filled with fresh distilled water each day. In fact we have our own electrically powered water distiller capable of distilling 20 gallons of water each day. At the end of the day, all the waterlines are drained and cleared out with air. We use a special waterline disinfectant in order to prevent bacterial build up in the lines. We like to believe that we are way ahead in preventing problems for you. We have been using this system of self contained water since we have been in this office, long before anyone even knew that bacterial contamination in waterlines could be a problem. Rest assured that we will always stay ever vigilant to protect you the best that we know how. We always work to insure that the service we provide is of the highest quality. You can visit the company that produces our water distiller, Innowave at their website.

Patient Responsibilities

It is your responsibility as a patient:

  • to inform us of any changes in your medical condition; including new medications, new conditions or diseases, allergies and special needs.
  • to inform us of any changes in your dental insurance
  • to schedule treatment as recommended
  • to keep scheduled appointments
  • to provide payment in a timely manner

We realize that there may be times when you must change your appointment. Please give us 48 hours notice. The time we schedule for your appointment is for you alone, we do not “double book.” Therefore, if you don’t come in for your appointment, the doctor or hygienist has no one to see and that appointment is wasted. This isn’t fair to other patients who are waiting for an appointment.
